How to switch to a new TV with a USB cable
Posted On June 16, 2021
The cable that connects your television to your computer can be a pain.
It can be complicated to change channels, add or remove channels, and adjust brightness and contrast.
Here are some things to keep in mind when you’re using your cable to watch a show or play a game.
What you need to know before you switch: What type of cable do I need?
You can use the following type of USB cable to connect your PC or TV to your laptop or tablet: Type A USB Cable for laptops and desktops, including MacBooks, Surface Pro, and MacBook Pro.
Type B USB Cable (or Type C for Windows PCs) for Macs and PCs.
Type C USB Cable is for Mac computers.
Type A or Type B is recommended for the majority of PC users.
What to look for in your cable: The cable you use should have a black or white band on the end of it, similar to what you see on your TV.
It should have at least four strands (a cable will have no more than three strands, but you may need more if you have a longer cable).
The ends should be black or grey, and they should be connected to the other end with a silver or white wire.
The wire should be the right length, and it should not be attached to the end with anything metal or heavy.
It may be difficult to tell if the cable is Type A and Type B, or if it’s Type A.
