What is Dish’s new cable?
Posted On July 26, 2021
Dish has announced plans to launch a new cable TV service called Dish TV Plus that will compete with cable companies like AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast.
Dish says the service will offer live channels, video programming, and content like HBO, Showtime, and Disney.
Dish has been eyeing cable TV for quite some time.
In May, Dish CEO Mike White told investors that the company was considering launching a standalone cable TV offering.
“We’re going to take that to the consumer and see what they want,” White said at the time.
The service will cost $20 per month.
Dish TVPlus is expected to launch in 2018.
It will offer a mix of live channels like HBO and Showtime plus live programming like Disney and ESPN.
Dish is not the only cable company in the race.
Charter has been testing a cable-only offering called Xtra FiOS, which is currently available in some areas.
Dish, which also has its own cable service, said it was working with the cable company to develop a “broadband-focused” cable service.
Dish and Charter have also been testing separate TV services.
Dish’s cable TV network Dish is in a tight race with cable giants like Comcast and AT<d to launch its own service.
A recent survey of 1,000 consumers by the research firm Convergence Group found that Dish TV is the most popular cable service among consumers in the US.
Dish was launched in 2008, but the company hasn’t launched a major new product in years.
The company is now focused on getting new subscribers and developing new products that are more likely to attract consumers.
Dish said last month that it would introduce the Dish TV Now streaming service on August 20.
The new service will stream content from Dish’s streaming-video service Dish Now, which it bought last year for $3.4 billion.
The Dish TV service will compete directly with Comcast, AT>d, and Verizon.
Dish plans to charge $40 per month for the service.
It says the new service offers access to up to eight channels, including HBO and AMC, plus a variety of content.
Dish will also offer a separate streaming-media service called Xstream, which has access to HBO, AMC, and a handful of other channels.
Dish also said last week that it will offer “subscription-based access” to a new streaming-streaming service called Sling TV, which will be priced at $15 per month per account.
The Sling service will allow users to stream video on their smartphones and tablets, but Dish said the service is only available in the United States.
