Netflix has lost a number of services after it went down in the US this morning.
The US National Electrical Cooperative Service (NECS) confirmed that around 1,000 customers were experiencing a short circuit when it came to its Internet service, according to Reuters.
The outage affected about 30% of its subscribers, and it’s unclear whether any of those people had cable or other Internet service.
Netflix said in a tweet that its service was still working on a new network.
Netflix has been down since 11:00pm GMT, when it was down in Canada.
Netflix said in its statement that “we’ve got an awesome team of engineers and technicians working around the clock to make sure we can get the network back up and running as quickly as possible”.
It added that it is working to ensure customers are receiving the best service possible.
The company said it will continue to update customers as more information becomes available.
The outage comes after a number other companies, including HBO, Dish, Comcast and Time Warner Cable, have suffered similar outages over the past few months.
The internet provider’s troubles come as consumers increasingly turn to online video streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu, with a large number of users switching to streaming video services such a Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.
Netflix also said it was “working hard to restore our service to customers” as it tries to keep up with demand.
